The Bee Vet website has developed from our vets’ interest in Honeybee health and contains general information on bee health and diseases.
We provide evidence based advice on the appropriate use of bee medicines. The Bee Vet stocks a range of UK and EU licenced varroacides. We can discuss requirements for importation of other licenced medicines where this is justified.
The list of products available for importation from the EU with Special Import Certification can be found at www.vmd.defra.gov.uk/public/bee_authorised.aspx.
Emily qualified as a veterinary surgeon from Bristol University in 2002 and has worked in Farm Practice since including a season in New Zealand. She spent an additional year at university studying for a zoology degree in the middle of her vet course and has always had a keen interest in wildlife, ecology and conservation. Her role as the Bee Vet is to provide advice to beekeepers on Bee health issues and to source a range of licensed and appropriate treatments. She is also continuing with trial work using predatory mites to control Varroa and supporting other expert beekeepers with research into their areas of interest.
